CRB Check Service

Mind Professionals are able to offer an Enhanced CRB Check service to all candidates that are registered with us, and as a Registered Umbrella Body with the Criminal Records Bureau, we are now also able to offer this service to external organisations.

The cost of an Enhanced CRB Check with Mind Professionals is just £50.00 and is probably the most competitive price available anywhere.  

Furthermore, we will refund you the cost of the CRB upon your first assignment with Mind Professionals or if you are placed by us in permanent employment.

To qualify for a criminal background check you would need to be working in regulated activity* which most of the opportunities that Mind Professionals offer are covered by. These would generally be involve positions where contact with children or vulnerable adults is expected, but we can advise you on application whether you would qualify:

*Regulated activity includes any form of work (paid or voluntary) carried out for a setting or establishment specified in the Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act which is on a frequent or intensive basis and which provides an opportunity for contact with children or vulnerable adults.

If you are an organisation wishing to carry out multiple CRB checks on your staff or volunteers, please get in contact to ensure you are eligible and make any necessary arrangements.

Documentation required for an Enhanced CRB Check

To apply for a CRB Disclosure you will need to supply THREE documents of identity to complete the form. These documents MUST be originals and NOT copies. At least ONE of these documents must be from the following list:

• Valid Passport

• Full or Provisional UK Driving License

• Original UK Birth Certificate

• Valid EU photo identity card

Additional documents to make a total of THREE must be from this list:

• Bank or Building Society Statement (less than 3 months old)

• Credit Card Statement (less than 3 months old)

• Utility Bill (less than 3 months old)

• Insurance Certificate (current)

• NHS Card

• Marriage Certificate

• TV License (current)

• Store Card

• Mail Order Statement  (less than 3 months old)

• National Insurance Number Card

• Exam Certificate

• Non-original UK Birth Certificate

• P45 or P60 Statement

• Vehicle Registration Document

• Addressed Payslip

• Connexions Card

At least one document must show your current address and all documents must be original and valid.

You will also need to know your previous address details for the last 5 years.

Process for CRB Check Application:

1. Phone Mind Professionals to apply for an enhanced CRB Check.

2. An application form will be posted to you which you must complete fully and to specific requirements.

3. Return the completed application form to Mind Professionals together with original copies of your documentation and a payment of £50.00 (Cheques made payable to Mind Professionals). Because you are sending original and valuable documents, we insist that you use a "Recorded and Signed For" postal service. We will return to you using the same after we have verified the supplied documents.

4. Upon receipt of your application, we will initiate the CRB Check process which may take between 2-4 weeks.

5. When the checking process is complete, a CRB Check document will be sent to you at the address specified on your application form. The CRB Check document will be yours to keep and copies of this can be provided to third parties at your choice and discretion,
